A PASSIONATE CREATIVE VIDEO EDITOR, VIDEOGRAPHER AND CAT PERSON.
I’m Oxfordshire born and bred and I live on the doorstep of the Cotswolds with my family and of course 2 cats. My passion for video started when I was very young (4/5 years old), because my parents filmed a lot of my childhood, on their retro camcorder, and I was always interested in what was being filmed on the camera screen. As I grew up I would film myself and friends on my phone, edit birthday video montages and I even edited the schools leavers video for my year group. I then when onto study media at college for 2 years.
After my studies I worked for the UKs leading national wedding video company ‘Shoot It Yourself.’ 1 year into the job I was promoted to Head of the Edit Department, where I successfully managed 250 plus video edits per year, a small team of editors and occasionally the office. 2020 was going to be our best and biggest year…Incoming Covid-19 Lockdown.
We went from 300 weddings to none.
Unfortunately SIY couldn’t survive through people cancelling and postponing, so they went insolvent and I was made redundant.
To say I was crushed was an understatement (I burst into tears on my zoom meeting when I was told). However, life keeps moving forward, so I took all my energy and passion for video and created The Editology Room!
WHERE AM I NOW
I started planning my small business in September 2020 and officially launched my website in December 2020, so I am still at the beginning of this next chapter in my life. The aim for this creative business is to create meaningful videos that you can connect with and will want to watch them time and time again.
